General Wellbeing Officials of the Accra Metropolitan Gathering (AMA) Wednesday held onto nine sacks of parasite plagued salted fish being moved to Obuasi in the Ashanti Locale available to be purchased.
The transfers were seized upon a clue at the celebrity truck terminal at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, with the proprietor, Esi Bawa, a neighborhood wholesaler, captured.
Mr Gilbert Ankrah, Head of Public Undertakings at the AMA, told the Ghana News Organization that the tasks framed piece of a continuous work to guarantee the wellbeing of food items for the general population.
He said the "wrongdoer abuses the AMA's bye-regulation and the General Wellbeing Act, 2012 (Act 851), Area 100 (3) which disallows the deal or making available for purchase of unwholesome or inadmissible nourishment for human or creature utilization."
Mr Ankrah said evaluation and ensuing report from the General Wellbeing Division laid out proof of ill-advised taking care of, unsanitary circumstances, and possibly destructive microorganisms in the held onto items.
"Worms are fly hatchlings and their presence in food is an obvious indicator of waste and devouring such items can prompt gastrointestinal trouble that might prompt drying out," he added.
Mr Ankrah said: "The General Wellbeing Group demonstrates that the presence of hatchlings frequently shows a high level phase of disintegration, which can cause food contamination. Worms can convey parasites, and their utilization can prompt parasitic contaminations in the human body."
He said the unwholesome fish would be arranged and the merchant arraigned.
He asked general society to be careful while buying food items and report any dubious exercises that could jeopardize the wellbeing and lives of individuals.
All the fish were rotten and filled with worms and maggot which can be harmful to human health. These fish isn't good for a person to consume.
So the fish are been friend away and some are being burnt to ashes and people are deeply warned not to consume such meats or fishes.
