2024 "Bye Bye" Budget Failed To Address Economic Bankruptcy.
The National Communication's Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has taken a jab at the New Patriotic Party after the 2024 budget was read by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
The 2024 budget failed to address the economic bankruptcy and excruciating hardships Ghanaians are reeling under, owing to reckless mismanagement by the Bawumia-led Economic Management Team.
This budget offers no hope whatsoever for the teeming unemployed youth and the ordinary man on the street whose economy is his pocket.
However, Sammy Gyamfi also stated that the ruling government, which is the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have had several budgets read in a last 7 years of being in government with different names. He made mention of some names of the previous budget's. The government told the people of Ghana through their budgets that everything was going to be fine, issues of economic hardship would be resolved and also ease their burden of the suffering masses to give them some economic and financial freedom.
From “Asempa” budget in 2017 to “Adwumapa” budget in 2018 to “Mpuntuo” budget in 2019 to “Nkosuo” budget in 2020 to “Obatanpa” budget in 2021 to “Agyenkwa” budget in 2022 to “Nkabom” budget in 2023 to “Nkunim” budget in 2024; the living conditions of Ghanaians have continued to worsen year after year.
Today, our beloved country finds herself in a self-inflicted debt crises, with a high unemployment rate of 14%, an unbearable inflation rate of 35.2% and a crippling lending rate of averagely 36%.
Yet, the very government that has plunged us into this catastrophic mess continues to feed us with meaningless economic jargons and useless slogans.
This is the sad reality of ordinary Ghanaian and the situation hasn't improved. Ghanaians will say bye bye to this government in 2024 because they are tired of the lies and falsehood.
