Akumadan is the capital of Offinso North, a district in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. It has a population of about 20000. Akumadan township is well known for its agricultural activities. All sorts of food crops can be planted on its soil but tomatoes is the largest crop. 90 percent of natives above 18 years are tomato farmers. They produce more tomatoes than any other town in Ghana. It has a dam that helps to irrigate some farmlands within its reach during dry seasons. Cassava, pepper, onion, garden eggs, plantain, maize etc. are also abundant. These activities with other farm produce has rose the name of Akumadan high over the years.

Upon these support the town is giving to mother Ghana, it still lacks development all in the Name of chieftaincy issues.

Due to this, the Aduana Royal family of Akumadan have appealed to the Ashanti Regional Traditional council to help them retrieve their lost throne that has been lost for many years.

However they stated that, the town lack development, all because of the issues concerning the throne they think have been lost causing some people to use the town's name to do things that are unnecessary.

Addressing the media at a press briefing organised by the Aduana Royals At Akumadan, they claim their throne is lost, Nana Kwaku Owusu, Aduana Abuasuapanin of  Akumadan passionately  appealed to His Royal Majesty Otumfuor Osei Tutu Ababio to turn his eyes on them to reclaim their throne back.

Meanwhile, he indicated that When they got their throne back, it will make the residents of the town have their peace and hence development.

He emphatically said, Akumadan town needs peace, unity and  development. Hence calling on His Royal Majesty Otumfuor Osei Tutu Ababio to consider their petition before him.

They therefore appealed to His Royal Majesty Otumfuor Osei Tutu Ababio though they have no power to question His Royal Majesty but for the sake of development, he should have mercy on them and accept work on their petition.
