Ghanaian blogger and Brand Influencer, Edrino Greatness recently took to social media to squeeze government on the whereabout of the Sky Train they promised Ghanaians.
However, Edrino Greatness said this very government is only good at promising Ghanaians but fails to deliver on their promises.
Meanwhile, on social media where Edrino Greatness stated that he's still waiting for the Sky Train which attracted a lot of social media users to react to his post.
According to many social media users, this government have failed Ghanaians and made a lot of noise about this Sky Train but yet couldn't deliver on that promise. We are waiting for the government to respond and tell us something.
I want to use this opportunity to remind Ghanaians that the government signed a deal through the Railways Development Minister, Mr Joe Ghartey, who made an agreement for Ghana on the sidelines of the Africa Investment Forum in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Mr. Joe Ghartey emphasised that the Sky Train Project was the solution to the ever-increasing road traffic congestion in Accra, with its detrimental effects on economic activity, pollution and the quality of life.
Government made Ghanaians to believe that there is confidence in the project. The promoters (Ai SkyTrain Consortium) are very serious people, and that is why they invited the President, himself, to witness the signing. This should assure the investors that Government is solidly behind it. We are very excited about the prospects,” he added.
As government signed signed an MoU, which will last nine months, where they (Ai SkyTrain Consortium) can do their feasibility into detail. After which we have given ourselves 45 days to take our concessionary agreements for approval by Cabinet and also by Parliament. By January 2020, they should have started the construction of the project,” Mr Ghartey said.
“We are exceptionally excited also by the fact that a lot of the construction works will be done in Ghana. It will create a lot of jobs in Ghana, because the fabrication and construction will all be done in Ghana.”
