A Ghanaian lady named Afua Asantewaa O Aduonum is set to attempt the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon.
The current record is held by an Indian man named Sunil Waghmare, who sang continuously for 105 hours from March 3 to 7, 2012. To break this record, Afua will need to sing for at least 117 hours.
Afua is the CEO of Askof Productions Limited and the organizer of GOWA Awards, Miss Kidi Ghana and Teen Queen Ghana. She explained in an Instagram video that she is attempting this record to promote Ghanaian music to the world.
On her Instagram page, Afua wrote:

Afua's attempt is scheduled to take place this December. She will only be allowed short breaks to drink water and use the bathroom. She will not be allowed to repeat any songs, and each song must be between 1 to 2 minutes long.
This means Afua will have to sing over 3,200 different Ghanaian songs if she wants to break the current record of 105 hours.
