Liverpool could be without up to seven players for Saturday's game against Crystal Palace. The Reds travel to Selhurst Park after a 2-0 win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

However, Wednesday night's victory was overshadowed by manager Jurgen Klopp admitting Joel Matip is unlikely to feature again this season after it was revealed he had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.

Alongside the Cameroonian on the sidelines will be Andy Robertson, Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bazicetic, Alisson Becker, and Diogo Jota. Alexis Mac Allister may also miss the trip to the capital after missing out with an injury at Bramall Lane on Wednesday night.

Three days after being sent off against Fulham in the second half of Sunday's match, Matip suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament at Bramall Lane, and Klopp confirmed the player would be out for the foreseeable future. Manager Klopp informed the media:

It's a ruptured cruciate ligament. Unfortunately, we predicted that from the beginning.'' Everything looked like this. so sad. " Matip, 32, has impressed for the Reds this season and limited Ibrahima Konate's appearances off the bench until he was injured in recent weeks.

As his contract expires at the end of June, the defender's cruciate ligament injury unfortunately makes it unclear if it will keep him out for the customary nine months. Expected return date: unknown alexis mac allister Mac Allister was substituted around 60 minutes into Wednesday's victory at Bramall Lane after bruising his knee early on.

The Argentine player, though, stated on Instagram following the game that he would be alright and would only require stitches for his injury. He stated, "He will soon be back to normal, but he got a few stitches." we continue. Come on, Liverpool. ”

But because Liverpool has a short turnaround to get ready for the match at Selhurst Park, Mac Allister might be left out of the starting lineup as a precaution.

Possible return date: December 14th

Diogo Jota Jota will be looking to show that he is healthy for the Manchester United game the following week. The striker has not featured since coming on as a substitute in the match against Manchester City on November 25 with a muscular injury.

However, he returned to the pitch earlier this week and was able to take part in team training ahead of Saturday's trip to Selhurst Park. Possible return date: 14th to 17th December

Alison Becker On Thursday, Alisson posted a photo of himself in goalkeeper gloves on his Instagram Story, hinting at his return to team training.

The Brazilian goalkeeper has not played for the Reds since their draw with Manchester City last month. He injured his thigh while trying to clear the ball. Caoihin Kelleher has started all three of the Reds' last three games during his absence and is expected to start next Saturday against Crystal Palace. However, Alisson hopes to be back in time for next weekend's game against Manchester United at Anfield.

Possible return date: December 17th

Thiago Alcantara, Andy Robertson, and Stefan Bajcetic: Therefore, it is anticipated that Robertson, Bajcetic, and Thiago—who have been out of the team since January 2024—will not return to Liverpool. Robertson has not played for the Reds since October after dislocating his shoulder while playing for Scotland, which later required surgery.

Thiago, meanwhile, has not featured in a competitive game since April, with Klopp admitting last month that the Spaniard had suffered a setback in his quest to reach full fitness.
