Popular Ghanaian undercover journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas has finally revealed his source of funding that enables him and his teammates to carry out secret investigations.

Verily, this particular issue has been a very heavy mystery in the minds of people, taking into account, the huge sums of money used by the Tiger Eye group whenever they emerge with a new video.

Whiles in an exclusive interview at the Disruptionlab Network event in Germany, Anas Aremeyaw Anas opened up to explain to the audience how the Tiger Eye group generates funds to push into their works. His clarification came following a question posed by one of the audience, expressing severe curiosity on the part of the group's fiscal arrangements.

According to the person (a young man) in question, he rose from the audience to inquire how Anas and his colleague journalists, are able to acquire monies paid as bribes to culprits in their exposés

Addressing the question, Anas Aremeyaw Anas disclosed that, in some instances, the substantial sums of money he paid as bribes during undercover investigations have been retained as permanent exhibits by authorities, never to be returned.

"Well, it depends. There have been certain occasions that the money has been used as exhibits, and the people who used it as exhibits kept it as exhibits, permanent exhibits," he started.

Speaking further, the undercover journalist added that the Tiger Eye group sometimes obtains revenue from its streaming platforms such as YouTube, notwithstanding the fact that they have established some form of alliance with particular radio stations which also accrue funds to support the course.

"So we are a media house, and we have views, we have clicks, we have radio stations that we go into some form of alliance with. So before we start any investigation, there is a budget, and that budget is what goes into the film.

"We wish we could get more to do what we do, but we try, and we wish we would not be paying more, but sometimes you just have to pay more to get it," he added.
