GOOD NEWS: FISHING VILLAGE TO BE CONSTRUCTED IN TAIN

The Bono Regional Director of Fisheries Commission, Mr. Hanson Dzamefe with delegation from National fisheries commission visited Tain on Friday, December 15, 2023, to inspect a 200 acre of land for the construction of fishing village in Tain, in the Bono region.


The Fisheries commission has decided to implement model fishing village project in Bono region and sited Tain district for the project.


The project, according to the leader of the delegation and the Head of legal for the Fisheries commission in Ghana, lawyer Adu-Antwi Alexander (ESQ) expatiated to the District Chief Executive of Tain to envisage the construction of houses for hospitality, provision for health facilities, setting up of Creche, event center, history site in a form of tourist center to serve as hub for fish marketing center, and to serve as job opportunities for the youth in the district and its suburbs.


Lawyer Adu-Antwi expressed to Apiah-Kubi in a fraternize interview, saying "We've observed the DCE's interest in fish farming and she is performing at her responsibility to excel on developing her district, so we would also make sure to get her the full support and the legal backing for the project".


He stressed on the need for strengthening marketing in the Fisheries sector, adding that the sector can play a vital role in addressing the issue of malnutrition among children, besides ensuring food security of the nation.


He finally exultate the chief of Tainso for given them land for the construction of the project.


Welcoming the Bono regional director of the Fisheries commission and the delegates in a glee, Hon. Dr. Lucy Acheampong expressed how best the project could be a benefit the people of Tain and the other suburbs.


She stated that the project could be a benefit to the people of Tain and the suburbs.


She explained, "I'm so excited the delegation has visited the site for this project, I've been looking forward to it and I'm pleasured to see them here".


"I allocated a swampy area from the chief of Tainso for the project and I thank the chiefs for the kind gesture of the land. I believe this will be in exigency for the betterment of the district", the DCE stated.


A committee led by the linguist of Tainso, Nana Obour Samuel, with the committee and the Assembly members reiterated that the land has been given in an axiom with no acquiesce.
