Klopp's "favourite player" has already been tipped to replace Salah at Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp's has praised West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen as one of his "favourite players" amid continuing links with the England international.
Liverpool crushed West Ham 5-1 at Anfield on Wednesday in their Carabao Cup victory. Bowen, 27, scored the lone goal for West Ham. The England winger displayed good strength before curling a shot into the far corner with his right foot, making it an incredible goal as well.
When asked about West Ham's caliber prior to the match on Wednesday, Klopp singled out Bowen. "I have to say, aside from all of my players, (Bowen) is probably my favorite," the Liverpool manager remarked. What he is doing and how he has grown is fantastic."
Only a few weeks have passed since Michail Antonio, Bowen's West Ham teammate, predicted that he would succeed Mohamed Salah at Liverpool. Long-term plans for the Egyptian appear uncertain as Al-Ittihad intends to entice him to Saudi Arabia in the upcoming months.
On the last day of the summer transfer window, Salah, 31, was rejected by Al-Ittihad in a deal worth 150 million. However, the timing of the proposal was a major factor in its rejection. If the Reds have time to locate a replacement, they might take a big offer.
In the English game, Bowen is well-liked. After his boyhood club failed, he began his career at Hereford United before joining Hull in 2014. In 131 games for Hull, he scored 54 goals, which convinced West Ham to pay 22 million for him in January 2020.
The five-cap England international has demonstrated his abilities in the Premier League by tallying 37 goals throughout 141 matches in the top division of England. He was voted Man of the Match after scoring the game-winning goal against Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final the previous season.
Given that Bowen is under contract until June 2030, West Ham is likely to demand a substantial transfer feepossibly more than 100 million. "He is a bags-man!" In October, Antonio spoke with the Football's Football Podcast. "Everything he is touching is turning to gold right now."However, considering that the man recently inked a seven-year contract, it will undoubtedly be costly. You will need to give us the money that you receive from Salah! He's excellent, left-footed and plays on the right-hand side like Mo Salah, so he is the perfect replacement.
"But hey, it's not going to be easy to get him out of here. It won't be easy because that's a seven-year contract man has just signed."
Liverpool will face Fulham in a two-legged semi-final in the Carabao Cup in January. The tournament's other last-four tie will see Chelsea take on Championship side Middlesbrough, who are managed by Manchester United legend Michael Carrick.
The Reds scored on Wednesday through goals from Dominik Szoboszlai, Mohamed Salah, and Cody Gakpo. Curtis Jones secured a brace as well. Following his team's most recent triumph, BBC Radio 5 Live questioned Klopp about what most impressed him.
"The performance, the scoresheet, the result and the individual performances put together to make a team on the pitch," he responded. "We positioned ourselves bravely, and we played a fantastic second ball game. The performance was excellent from beginning to end.The guys really relished it. They not only put in a lot of work but also had fun while playing football. Good to see... Dominik is skilled at these kinds of finishing, and I hope Curtis took a true step forward. That is something he can add on."
