Andrés Iniesta Luján, commonly known as Andrés Iniesta, is a Spanish former professional footballer. He was born on May 11, 1984, in Fuentealbilla, Spain. Iniesta started his youth career at Albacete Balompié before joining Barcelona's youth academy, La Masia, at the age of 12.
Iniesta made his first-team debut for FC Barcelona in 2002, and quickly became an integral part of the team. He played as a central midfielder and possessed exceptional dribbling, vision, and passing abilities. Iniesta played a crucial role in the success of Barcelona's tiki-taka style of play.
During his career at Barcelona, Iniesta won numerous trophies, including 9 La Liga titles, 4 UEFA Champions League titles, 6 Copa del Rey titles, and 3 FIFA Club World Cup titles. He also won the UEFA European Championship twice with the Spanish national team in 2008 and 2012, as well as the FIFA World Cup in 2010, where he scored the winning goal in the final.
Iniesta retired from professional football in August 2018 after spending 16 seasons at Barcelona. He then joined Vissel Kobe, a club in the Japanese J1 League. Iniesta continued to showcase his skills and experience, contributing to Vissel Kobe's success.
