Stonebwoy: "My children are unable to stray from my family's straightness'"
Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known by his stage name Stonebwoy, is an award-winning Afropop, dancehall, and reggae artist. He declares he will not tolerate his children being gay or lesbian.
The BET award winner, who boldly identified as straight, claimed that because of the upbringing he and his wife are providing for their kids, he expects them to follow in their footsteps.
The hitmaker of "Pull Up" made it clear that he views himself as straight, a characteristic he hopes his kids would inherit as a result of the upbringing they are now receiving from him and his wife.
In an interview with Starr FM, Stonebwoy stated, "I think most people will follow you." My mother was straight, my father was straight, and I am straight. In my opinion, the majority of my family line displayed straightness. I can therefore put my hands on the fact that I think I am straight.
"My wife and daughter must remain straight, and my son must also remain straight, as they are continuing in that direction. They will therefore discover that.
It is important to note that since August 2021, legislators in Ghana have been debating a bill that aims to make same-sex relationships, being transgender, and supporting LGBTQ rights crimes.
Many MPs in Ghana have supported the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, which calls for jail terms of up to 10 years for individuals who promote LGBTQ rights.
The bill, supported by conventional and religious authorities, calls for publishing anything that questions standard binary gender identities or is deemed pro-LGBTQ to be prosecuted.
The bill, known as the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, has garnered support from many MPs in Ghana, with proposed jail sentences of up to 10 years for those advocating for LGBTQ rights.
The bill, backed by religious and traditional leaders, includes prosecution for publishing content considered pro-LGBTQ or that challenges traditional binary gender identities.
