LAGOS POLICE ARRESTED WOMAN FOR POURING HUSBAND WITH HOT WATER

The Lagos State Police Command has taken into custody a woman identified as Dorcas Oluwabukola on allegations of pouring hot water on her husband in the Meiran area of the state, fueled by suspicions of infidelity.

According to an undisclosed police source from the Meiran division, the suspect, Dorcas Oluwabukola, will be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department once the ongoing investigation is concluded. The incident, which occurred approximately five days ago, gained traction on various social media platforms, with reports suggesting that the wife's actions were triggered by her husband attending a childhood friend's wedding without her presence.

The altercation arising from this perceived act of betrayal reportedly led Dorcas to commit the alleged crime of pouring hot water on her husband. The police source, who preferred to remain unnamed, assured the public that the matter would be thoroughly investigated, emphasizing that the division is closely monitoring the husband's progress as he remains hospitalized since the incident.


Confirming the incident, the source provided additional details, stating, "It is true the incident happened. The incident happened about six days ago. It was a true story. She poured hot water on her husband purposely because she felt that he cheated on her."

The root cause of the conflict is traced back to the couple's plans to attend a party together, where the husband, contrary to expectations, attended alone. The resulting tension allegedly led to the drastic act by the wife.

Highlighting the severity of the offense, the police source emphasized that the wife was promptly arrested as the act constitutes a capital offense, with no option for bail. The investigation will be further escalated, and the case is scheduled to be moved to the state Criminal Investigation Department at an appropriate time.
