In a significant development within the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Sani Mustapha, the Zamfara State Commandant, imparted words of encouragement to recently promoted officers, urging them to rise to the challenges accompanying their elevated ranks. The charge was delivered during a decoration ceremony held at the State Command Headquarters in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State.

The statement, issued by the Command's spokesperson, Ikor Oche SC, highlighted Mustapha's acknowledgment of the benevolent decision by the Commandant General, Dr. Abubakar Ahmed Audi. Dr. Audi had approved the promotion of over 21,000 officers in the recent 2023 promotion exercise, with Zamfara State Command witnessing the elevation of over 260 officers to new ranks.

Mustapha praised this move as a testament to the effective leadership demonstrated by the Commandant-General. In his address, he emphasized the need for the promoted officers to justify their promotions by exhibiting heightened commitment to their assigned duties. To facilitate a seamless transition, letters of redeployment were promptly presented to the newly promoted officers, directing them to assume duty promptly in their new areas of assignment.

DCC Ahmed Arzika, one of the decorated officers, expressed gratitude to Dr. Audi for the opportunities granted to the newly promoted personnel. Speaking on behalf of the officers, he pledged to redouble their efforts in advancing the objectives of the Corps.

The promotion exercise saw a diverse array of advancements, including four officers ascending to the rank of Deputy Commandant of Corps, two officers achieving the rank of Assistant Commandants of Corps, and five officers attaining the Rank of Chief Superintendent Corps. Furthermore, 27 officers were promoted to the rank of Superintendent, while 50 officers ascended to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Corps. Additionally, 49 officers were elevated to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Corps 1, and 128 officers were promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Corps 2.

This recognition and promotion underscore the commitment of the NSCDC to recognizing and rewarding merit within its ranks. The ceremony not only celebrated individual achievements but also reinforced the collective responsibility of the newly promoted officers in contributing to the Corps' overarching mission and objectives. As they assume their new roles, the expectations for heightened dedication and performance become integral to the continued success and effectiveness of the NSCDC in ensuring the security and well-being of the communities it serves.
