On January 6, a Ghanaian guy will try the world record for most lipstick applications.
Dela Gomey, a Ghanaian makeup artist and nurse, is getting ready to try her hand at setting a new Guinness World Record for the most lipstick applications in 30 seconds on January 6, 2024, in Accra.
Gomey's adventure started when he accidentally came over a Guinness World Records post on TikTok. Motivated by the opportunities, he explored their extensive catalog of record categories before settling on the alluring task of applying lipstick.

"Aside from being a nurse, I work in makeup. In a phone conversation with GraphicOnline, Gomey said, "I entered makeup and a whole list came concerning makeup out of which I chose lipstick application." "So, my challenge isn't going to be a race or marathon; it's just that I have to apply lipstick on various models in under 30 seconds."
Renowned Chinese beauty artist and influencer Li Jiaqi set a record in 2018 when she applied four makeup looks in thirty seconds. Li's effort happened over a live broadcast, but Gomey's will take place in the Greater Accra Region at a location that has not yet been determined. Attendees can expect an exciting scene.
Gomey is unfazed in the face of extreme pressure. He's been working hard to break the current record by putting lipstick on seven models in the thirty seconds that are allowed. He claims to have perfected his method to the point of six applications, and with unyielding perseverance, he is slowly but surely approaching his objective.
