Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly initiated talks with Genoa in their pursuit of central defender Radu Dragusin, submitting an opening offer of €25 million, according to Rudy Galetti. However, Genoa is standing firm in their demand for a fixed price of €30 million for the 21-year-old Romanian defender.

Tottenham's interest in reinforcing their central defensive options led them to target Dragusin, and recent developments suggest a proactive approach. Spurs accelerated their pursuit, engaging in direct talks with Genoa, and have now officially presented their first bid of €25 million. Despite this initial offer, Genoa remains unsatisfied and insists on a fixed fee of €30 million for Dragusin.

Talks between the two clubs are reportedly progressing positively, and there is confidence in reaching an agreement. Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is keen on securing a new centre-back signing promptly, aiming to wrap up negotiations in the coming week.

Among various potential targets, Dragusin emerges as an accessible option in the current transfer market. The Romanian defender, being a January target at the age of 21, aligns with Tottenham's urgency to address their defensive depth issues. While Spurs might be willing to approach the €30 million asking price, including add-ons, negotiations are ongoing.

Tottenham's pressing need for a centre-back is underscored by the absence of key players like Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven due to injuries. The potential departure of Eric Dier and the limited suitability of Ben Davies for an extended role further amplify the need for defensive reinforcements.

The easy availability of Dragusin makes him an attractive option for Tottenham, allowing for a relatively swift resolution compared to other potential targets. While Jean-Clair Todibo was initially a priority, negotiations with OGC Nice are expected to be time-consuming, prompting Spurs to pursue an early deal for Dragusin.

As discussions continue, Tottenham aims to finalize an agreement with Genoa for the acquisition of Radu Dragusin, fulfilling Postecoglou's desire for a timely addition to their defensive ranks. The focus remains on securing the talented 21-year-old Romanian as Spurs navigate the complexities of the January transfer market.
