Ghana's chances of making it to the knockout stage appear slim following three games in the group stage without a victory.
Ghana had a commanding 2-0 lead over Mozambique in their last Group B encounter at Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan, but they suffered a late blow, giving up two goals in stoppage time to settle for a 2-2 draw. Ghana now holds the third spot in the group rankings as a result of this outcome.
Ghana has just two points from their games, therefore their chances of making it to the round of sixteen are slim. To guarantee a spot in the knockout stage, the club must now wait to find out if they will be one of the top four third-place finishers after Wednesday's games.

Hughton acknowledged that he was accountable for the outcome, saying, "My impact on the team can only be judged by the results." It is a serious loss that Ghana was unable to take advantage of what he considered to be the "best opportunity" despite having had plenty of time to practice and prepare.
"Although our players gave it their all in these three games, the performance and outcomes were insufficient for our talented bunch. My influence on the team can only be assessed based on the outcomes.
"This was our greatest chance to perform well. We've had the players for a while to practice together, and while we expected to develop stronger the longer we competed, the truth is that we haven't.
Following his appointment as Ghana's coach in March, the 65-year-old coach declined to discuss any speculation regarding his future, saying, "Anything past this moment is not for me to talk about." Hughton, a former Brighton & Hove Albion, and Newcastle United manager must now deal with this setback and improve the team's performance going forward.
