Manhyia vs Wontumi: NPP Will Lose The 2024 Election - KNUST Lecturer

In a noteworthy prediction, Dr. Kwasi Amakye Boateng, a senior lecturer in the Department of History and Political Science at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has expressed his belief that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is poised to face defeat in the upcoming 2024 presidential elections. Dr. Boateng based his forecast on what he perceives as the detrimental impact of the party's legacy during its more than seven years in government.

During an interview on Oyerepa TV on January 23, 2024, Dr. Boateng shared his insights into the party's standing and its potential challenges in the forthcoming elections. He asserted that the cumulative impact of the NPP's governance over the years would play a decisive role in determining their fate at the polls.

Dr. Boateng specifically pointed to recent controversial utterances, including what he referred to as "Wontumi's alleged utterances against the Asantehehe," as exacerbating the party's vulnerabilities. These statements, according to the senior lecturer, have contributed to a negative perception of the party and could have far-reaching consequences on its electoral prospects.

In his assessment, Dr. Boateng stated, "Their legacies in government over the years will determine their fate, and this (Wontumi's alleged utterances) has come to add to making it worse." The lecturer emphasized that the current position of the NPP is precarious, with potential adverse outcomes.

Expressing concern over the party's standing, Dr. Boateng unequivocally declared, "The position of the party is not good at all, and that will bring bad consequences…and I have said it before that the NPP will lose the 2024 elections." This bold assertion underscores the lecturer's conviction in his analysis of the political landscape and his prediction for the electoral outcome.

It is worth noting that such forecasts contribute to the ongoing discourse surrounding Ghanaian politics, adding a layer of academic scrutiny to the dynamics shaping the electoral landscape. As the nation approaches the 2024 elections, Dr. Kwasi Amakye Boateng's perspective offers a glimpse into the diverse range of opinions regarding the potential trajectory of the political landscape in Ghana.
