Nomination for the 55th NAACP Awards goes to Black Sherif.
Black Sherif, the current VGMA Artiste of the Year, is a nominee for the 55th NAACP Awards, which will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2024, in the category of best outstanding pair, group, or collaboration.
Along with Dreamville's American rapper Bas and Nigerian producer/singer Kel-P, Black Sherif earned a spot on the soundtrack for Creed III, the box office hit movie that is a 2023 American sports drama directed and produced by Michael B. Jordan. Jordan plays the lead role of Adonis Creed in the film.
The two-hour Live TV special, which will air on BET and CBS on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 8:00 PM ET/PT, will reveal the winners of the 55th NAACP Awards.
The National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People in the United States hosts the annual NAACP Image Awards to recognise exceptional work in theatre, music, cinema, television, and literature.
Monde Twala, Senior Vice President of Paramount Africa and Peer Lead at BET International, commented on the African nominations for this year, saying, "We take pride in shining a spotlight on black legacy and excellence."
"As a means of celebrating real-life tales and honouring innovative work in cinema, TV, theatre, music, and writing, we have an international roster of African musicians with nominations in the music categories, including Burna Boy, Davido, Tems, Asake, Libianca, Black Sherif, Lojay, Omah Lay, and Ayra Starr.
