Ghanaian coaches vying to assume the role of Ghana Black Stars’ Coach.
The search for the new Black Stars coach is ongoing, and there is a vocal demand for Ghanaian coaches to assume the role, asserting that the country has a pool of competent coaches capable of leading the team. As the opportunity arose, several Ghanaian coaches, including Maxwell Konadu, expressed their eagerness to take on the coveted position.
Maxwell Konadu, a former Asante Kotoko coach, reportedly applied for the coaching position, aspiring to fulfill his long-held dream. Konadu previously served as an assistant to Kwasi Appiah in 2012, collaborating on the 2013 AFCON in South Africa and the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. After Appiah's dismissal in September 2014, Konadu assumed the Black Stars' interim coaching role, successfully guiding the team to qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
Subsequently, when Kwasi Appiah returned as the head coach, Konadu continued as one of his key assistants, working alongside Ibrahim Tanko. Konadu also contributed to Milovan Rajevac's coaching staff during the 2021 AFCON, where the team exited at the group stage. The ongoing quest for a new coach reflects the nation's belief in nurturing local coaching talent for the prestigious Black Stars role.
