John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has pledged to provide housing for pre-tertiary instructors as part of his efforts to enhance the quality of Senior High Schools in Ghana. He asserts that unlike the current administration, he does not make promises that he cannot fulfill.

This commitment comes in response to concerns raised by pre-tertiary educators nationwide regarding the lack of basic amenities affecting teaching and learning. Speaking at a Town Hall meeting in Tamale during his "Building the Ghana We Want Together Tour," Mr. Mahama emphasized the chaotic state of the economy and his reluctance to make unrealistic promises.

He contrasted his approach with that of the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led administration, which, he noted, made several unfulfilled promises such as the construction of factories and dams in every area. To incentivize pre-tertiary teachers to remain committed if he is elected, Mahama proposed providing accommodation assistance to alleviate their current challenges.

This initiative aims to motivate educators to dedicate themselves fully to the classroom while reducing unnecessary financial burdens.
