Citi News has reported that there are upcoming changes in the leadership within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), with Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the current Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, anticipated to be succeeded by Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the current Deputy Majority Leader. The status of Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu's government role remains uncertain, although it's speculated that he might assume the Chairmanship of the NPP’s 2024 Manifesto Committee.

Moreover, Frank Annoh Dompreh, the current Majority Chief Whip, is expected to rise to the position of Deputy Majority Leader, creating an opening for Habib Iddrisu, the present First Deputy Chief Whip, to step into the role of Majority Chief Whip. Patricia Appiagyei is reportedly being considered for the position of First Deputy Majority Chief Whip, following Lydia Seyram Alhassan's nomination as Minister for Water Resources and Sanitation.

Furthermore, sources suggest that Alex Tetteh Djornobuah, MP for Sefwi-Akontombra, may be appointed as the Second Deputy Chief Whip. A significant meeting of the NPP’s National Council is scheduled for Monday to finalize adjustments to the majority front bench following President Akuffo-Addo’s recent Ministerial Reshuffle.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP's flagbearer, is expected to unveil his campaign team to the party's National Executive Committee and National Council today. Names of campaign team members are anticipated to be disclosed after this meeting. Among potential appointees, former Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Dan Botwe, is speculated to be chosen as the campaign manager for the 2024 general election. Botwe was among the ministers relieved of their posts in last week's reshuffle by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Certainly! This reshuffle in the leadership of the majority caucus signals a strategic move by the NPP. It reflects a commitment to rejuvenating the party's leadership and ensuring alignment with its objectives. While transitions can bring uncertainty, they also present opportunities for fresh perspectives and renewed momentum. Sharing this article widely will keep stakeholders informed and foster dialogue on the party's direction.
