The US Embassy in Ghana has mentioned that the passage of the Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, 2021, commonly known as the anti-LGBTQ+ Bill, on Wednesday 28th February could negatively impact Ghana’s international reputation and economy.
However, musician and host of 3FM Urban Blend, Ahmed Abubakar popularly known as Blakk Rasta says it will be a blessing in disguise for Ghana to lose the support of foreign donors.
“You cannot dislike gays and love gay-money. The passage of the LGBTQ+ Bill will force our greedy leaders to be truly independent and responsible” he said on the Black Pot segment of his show on March 1.
The renowned media personality is urging Ghanaians to help fight all the ills in society and not just sexual immorality.
Blakk Rasta is of the view that Ghana could suffer the same fate as Sodom and Gomorrah if evil is allowed to persist in the country.
According to him, the insight he got from studying the story of Sodom and Gomorrah inspired him to write his Sodom & Gomorah song which happens to be the first track on his recent twenty-track Salaga Soljah album.
He also affirmed that the Sodom and Gomorrah story in the bible is true and also captured in the Quran, but people only talk about the homosexuality aspect of it though there were other heinous crimes in that city for which they were destroyed.
“When I visited Israel and had the opportunity to see ‘Sodom and Gomorrah’ located in the north of Syria, there I got to know the severity of their sins and punishment. Sodom and Gomorrah was not only punished for homosexuality but murder, violence, injustice, rape, corruption and many serious ills were rampant there” Blakk Rasta clarified.
The ‘My Dear Ghana’ patriotism hit song maker is hopeful that people will gain consciousness and society will get better through the influence of his music and radio work.
