Stephen Ashitey Adjei, a former executive of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) chapter in Tema East constituency, has stated that the presidential candidate of his party for the 2024 elections is unqualified. According to Ashitey Adjei, better known as Moshake, who wrote an article about party activities, former president John Dramani Mahama has lost too much support from Ghanaians to win back anyone's trust and run the country again.

A vice president of the think tank IMANI Africa, Mr. Kofi Bentil, has chosen Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over John Mahama, even though Mahama was very courteous to IMANI during his presidency. Moshake claims that many in the country's civil society community share Kofi Bentil's position. According to Moshake, John Mahama has been demonstrating that he is unfit to serve as president once again. It was inevitable that his campaign pledge, the "24-hour economy promise," would fizzle out, he continued, "and the 24-hour policy started looking bogus" the moment Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia revealed his mission statement.

"Mr. Mahama has lost ideas" is what Moshake says about "the nebulous nature of the promise." In a letter of complaint, Moshake said that the NDC had ignored his warnings that John Mahama was a bad choice for president due to his baggage, but that the party had nonetheless chosen him.

Things are looking bleak for us now that John Mahama's 24-hour economy promise isn't selling, even though this election was meant to be our greatest opportunity to regain power following his presidency's failures. For Moshake, "the majority of Ghanaians are seeing that he has lost his ideas and cannot be taken seriously" because of this.

In addition to his empty campaign promises, Moshake criticized John Mahama for his tarnished reputation as a corrupt and inept leader. John Mahama has been out of office for eight years, but his reputation as a corrupt leader has only grown since then. If he wants to be trusted to lead this country again, how do you make that happen? Mahama won't be in charge of Ghana again. "All the NPP has to do in the 2024 campaign is bring up the scandals of ex-president Mahama's government again, and the NDC will be completely destroyed," Moshake said.
