John Kumah, 45, was the member of parliament for Ejisu in the Ashanti Region and the deputy minister of finance. He passed away suddenly. He attended the University of Ghana and Opoku Ware Senior High School (OWASS) after being born in Ejisu, Odaho, on August 4, 1978. He subsequently attended GIMPA, the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, where he received an Executive Master's degree in Business Administration (Finance).
After earning a Professional Law Certificate from the Ghana School of Law in 2013, Kumah was called to the Ghana Bar. Additionally, in 2019, he earned a Master of Science degree in applied business research and a Doctorate degree in business innovation from the Swiss Business School in Switzerland. In addition to having six children, Kumah was a successful entrepreneur and co-founder of Aduaprokye Chambers. His apostolic wife and senior pastor of Disciple of Christ Ministries Worldwide, Mrs. Lilian Kumah, was his wife.

An old video from broadcaster Captain Smart suggested that Kumah and Chairman Wontumi were poisoned in Kumasi. Sadness and suspicion permeate his Ashanti Region home.
According to an individual who talked with TV3, Kumah was taken back to Accra in an ambulance since his health was deteriorating. Kumah had to be airlifted to Germany for medical treatment, he said. To fulfill a vision of Kumah holding a higher office in the government and to warn the Deputy Finance Minister to take excellent care of himself, a video recording of Prophet Nigel Gaisie's prophecy regarding his death has surfaced. Even though Captain Smart says Kumah was poisoned, nobody knows exactly how he died.
