Oheneba Aseidu, a close friend of Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has alleged the untimely death of deputy finance minister John Kumah. Oheneba Asiedu claimed on Wontumi Radio that John Kumah's connection to Chairman Wontumi led to his death. Oheneba Asidu revealed the details of John Kumah's passing by claiming that the two of them, along with Wontumi, passed away at the Mariam Hotel in Tamale as a result of food poisoning.

My knowledge and observations lead me to believe that John Kumah was murdered, not that he died. "Is this the way John Kumah is supposed to die? He's not perfect, after all," he asked. Another thing he said was that a stranger had offered Chairman Wontumi poisoned guinea fowl meat, or 'akonfem,' to kill him. Regrettably, Chairman Wontumi began to experience adverse effects from the poison after he and John Kumah had eaten the meal. Oheneba Asidu, who co-hosts the morning show on Wontumi Radio with John Kumah, was, he claimed, completely fit, in contrast to Wontumi.

He continued by saying that some people in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are trying to kill innocent people while they're in the shadows. In the name of the party, some are being nasty, and I'm speaking from personal experience when I say that if Dr. Bawumia brings up one of the names being floated for Bawumia's running mate, it would be a direct attack on the party chairman.

Thursday, March 7, 2024, was a passing day for John Kumah. Reportedly, he passed out in his office and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. After that, his health deteriorated to the point that he had to be airlifted out of the country. His untimely demise has shocked the nation, and its reason is still a mystery. The late Dr. Kumah was well-known for his many accomplishments in the fields of law, business, and politics while serving as a lawmaker for the Ashanti Region's Ejisu constituency. The apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah and their six children are his surviving relatives.
