The residence of the late Hon. John Appontuah Kumah, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Parliament, was visited by a high-level delegation headed by Vice President Dr. Bawumia as a sincere expression of sympathy and sorrow. The purpose of the visit was to provide comfort to the grieving family and convey condolences for their loss. With other government and party officials present, Vice President Bawumia extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late MP. In honor of Hon. John Kumah's life and work, he took a few moments to sign the book of condolences.
The book is a meticulous record of Dr. Bawumia's last moments with John Kumah before the latter passed away. "It's just mind-blowing! On Monday, when you paid me a house visit, we were both present. Everything was OK after our lengthy conversation. So, the news that you have unexpectedly departed has hit me very hard. There was no one like you—a star on the rise.
Everyone is gushing about you. Even more than the people who loved you, God loves you and has chosen you. Until we meet again, may your spirit find eternal peace."
After visiting the residence of Hon. John Ampontuah Kumah this afternoon, Dr. Bawumia spoke to the immediate family to express his sympathies and sign the book of condolences. Officials from both the administration and the New Patriotic Party (NPP: Development in Freedom) were with me, as was the chief of staff.
John was an incredible collaborator, and I was fortunate enough to collaborate with him on multiple projects. Truly, a dedicated son has been lost to Ghana and the NPP. While visiting, Vice President Bawumia offered comfort and assistance to the grieving family of Hon. Kumah, including his wife Lilian, their children, his mother, and the rest of the bereaved relatives.
