Apostle Lilian Kumah has filed a complaint against Captain Smart, a media general radio and television host, for allegedly claiming that her late husband, Dr. John Apontuah Kumah, died of food poisoning. On Friday, March 8, 2024, the journalist's widow went to the Accra Central Police Headquarters to file a complaint against him. Lilian Kumah is disturbed by the way her late husband's name is being tarnished by unfounded accusations; he unfortunately passed away at the young age of 45.
Several films featuring Captain Smart, who was speculating about the poisoning of himself and other prominent NPP members, have been shared on social media following the unexpected death of the Deputy Minister for Finance. Captain Smart supposedly accused a group of politicians and businesses of poisoning the former Ejisu MP in the video.
Smart went on to name prominent NPP members who are wanted for execution. He named several notable NPP members as victims of food poisoning, including former majority leader and Suame MP Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, as well as Asante-Akim North Constituency MP Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi and New Patriotic Party Ashanti Regional Chairman Wontumi.
