Following the announcement of John Kumah's death, many Ghanaians are still reeling from the shock. On his route to the hospital, the outspoken MP for Ejisu passed away. John Kumah served as the Deputy Finance Minister before his tragic death. The former Deputy Minister is allegedly the target of poisoning claims.
His autopsy will confirm this, but his loved ones say he's been sick for a while and was poisoned. Unfortunately, no amount of medicine, both internal and external, could rescue John. Within the ranks of the New Patriotic Party, the poisoning issue has subsequently grown into a significant concern. Everyone in the party is on edge right now due to the high risk of poisoning.
Others believe that John Kumah's poisoning was motivated by his ambitions to be Mahamudu Bawumia's running mate. A video showing some NPP politicians refusing to drink water has gone viral on the internet. It has been pointed out by many that this is an intentional attempt to prevent getting poisoned.
It seems that Professor Gyampo of the University of Legon's Political Science Department has warned IGP Dr. Akuffo Dampare to watch what he eats and buys for public consumption. Dampare, says Prof. Gyampo, must be wary of wicked people who would seek to bring him down from his lofty position. You may remember that a photo of Dampare purchasing plantains from a street vendor went viral a few weeks ago.
Ghanaians should exercise caution when venturing outdoors, as pointed out by Gyampo. When you get to a certain point in life, you have to watch what you eat, where you eat it, who you let buy your food, and from whom you consume it. We all know this from experience. "This is because we are surrounded by envious and deceitful individuals who put on a brave front and pretend to love us," Prof. Gyampo explained.
