The sudden change of circumstances has crushed the father's dreams for the future, according to John Kumah, who was a member of parliament for Ejisu and the late deputy minister of finance. Amid the indescribable anguish of losing his child, the grieving old father opened up about his deep disappointment at having to bury his child rather than the other way around.
The distraught father opened up to Kumasi-based radio station Oyerepa FM about his pain, explaining that he had always imagined giving his son, John Kumah, a proper burial when the time came, but now he has been the one to do it himself.
"We are submitting to the Lord's will for everything. "Kwaku, it is you who must bury me, not the other way around," I told him. We put everything in God's hands, whether it's the killer or the Lord.
The elderly man's heart broke at the thought of shifting roles from parent to child, from child being laid to rest by a parent. The tragic loss of John Kumah has shattered the delicate balance of life, shattering the unbreakable link between a father and son.
No parent should ever have to deal with the anguish of losing a child. The pain of seeing hopes and dreams dashed by the cold truth of death is something that very few can fathom.
But the father of John Kumah takes comfort in his faith, submitting his grief and unsolved concerns to a greater force amid such tremendous loss.
Just as he is about to say goodbye to his cherished son, he finds solace in his faith, knowing that everything is ultimately under God's control. We value your time spent reading this piece.
