Prophet Adom Kyei Duah, head of the Believers Worship Center, has established a mission at the University of Cape Coast. Many Ghanaian churches, including SHS, have established strong presences on university campuses around the country. Nevertheless, private churches in Ghana are few and far between, with the exception of the ICGC and other prominent one-man congregations. Even the majority of these campus-based, one-man churches communicate with their members in English.
In Akosombo, Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah came into this world on March 4, 1963. He is best known as the General Overseer of Believers Worship Centre (BWC). Starting at Akosombo, he went on to finish Form 4 at Akosombo LA Middle School in 1980.
He had been working as an apprentice mechanic for the Volta River Authority (VRA) in Akosombo when he decided to go to Nigeria in 1983 in search of his spiritual calling. The turning point came in 1988 when he got a powerful call from God on Sobi Mountain in Kwara State, Ilorin, Nigeria.
Stephen moved the Group of Believers Ministry from Nigeria to Benin (Dahomey) in 1995, after having founded it in 1988. In 1997, he went back to Ghana and established "The Group of Believers Prayer Camp" in Asiakwa in the country. He had a prophetic insight concerning political unrest beginning in 1999 while on his spiritual pilgrimage via Cape Coast and Côte d'Ivoire.
After a fruitful tenure in Obuasi, where he founded the Adom Prayer and Healing Camp in 2002, he returned to Ghana in 2008 and felt a calling to Kumasi. With God's help, the Believers Worship Centre (BWC) in Anwomaso came into being and was dedicated on January 24, 2010. "The Temple of God" in Kenyase Adwumam was miraculously provided for the congregation, who had been living in humble conditions beneath mango trees.
People from all over the globe flocked to the healing and deliverance sessions that took place on the last Wednesday and Friday of each month, commencing on March 25, 2012, when the inaugural service was performed, signaling the commencement of continual manifestations of divine power during services. A worldwide community based on religion and spiritual development has been nurtured through the leadership of Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah.
