Two communities in the Nkoranza North constituency of the Bono East Region are benefiting from the reshaping of their deplorable roads by the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Hon. Joseph Mensah.
The move, according to the MP, is to make the roads accessible for commuters as it is their major problem in terms of deplorable roads.
All these communities are farming areas linked to the Nkoranza North district capital, Busunya, but due to their deplorable roads, their farm produce always go waste.
The communities are Bonte and Bomini, which are all suburbs of Busunya.
These communities are also the food baskets of that part of the constituency and also the region as whole.
They produce cashew, yam, watermelon and other food crops.
The worse of these all are the pregnant women and the sick who cannot ply the road to seek medical care at Busunya.
The roads have been deplorable for decades but constant calls on successive MPs and governments to reshape the road have proved futile, therefore in his turner as an MP made it a needful service to abate the challenges of such deplorable roads.
"This project is a non governmental initiative and I'm the one financing it to meet the demand of my constituents", Hon. Joseph reiterated.
Some of the inhabitants expressed shocked over the reshaping exercise by the MP since the roads have been there for decades. They explained that in just his term in office, the MP has been able to make their roads motorable.
