The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Nkoranza South constituency, in the Bono East Region, leb by the communications officer Frank Agyenim Boateng (Katasko) issued a press statement on a 'gun wielding incident', condemning and warning against what they describe as "barbaric and outmoded political strategy" by the Parliamentary candidate for New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Nkoranza South constituency using brandish gun to attack workers of a construction firm on a road to a nearby construction site at Nsunensa a suburb of Brahoho in the Nkoranza South municipality and nearly lynched by ‘phalanges’ of thugs allegedly led by the NPP Parliamentary candidate, Madam Harriet Oppong.
However the communications officer, on the 29th day of March, 2024, said Madam Harriet Oppong led some thugs to Nsunensa where a road construction was ongoing, contracted by the member of Parliament for Nkoranza South, Hon. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum. Madam Harriet upon deliberating on her message to the Nsunensa people, asked her guys to bring some valuables belonging to the contractor to showcase her part of achievements for the people in the area.
Information gathered states that, the foreman for the job activity did not construed to the act by the thugs, therefore enraged the workers, whereas, one of the thugs pulled out a pistol to shoot one of the workers.
According to Katasko who traded the unprintable words in the press statement, captured by Fabea FM's Morning Show Host, Apiah-Kubi infuriated on the attack of the workers at the construction site.
The communications officer, Frank Agyenim Boateng (Katasko) parading warnings at the Nkoranza South NPP Parliamentary candidate who is accused of leading thugs against the contractor labeling her as "a violent attitude and barbaric" on her political strategy.
He further cautioned, "She should never and ever attempt to step or be seen on any project site by Hon. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum".
He added, "We in the NDC tolerate multi-party democracy, we accept diverse views and embrace peace but we are not cowards".
He therefore evoked the security services in Nkoranza, Chiefs, Christian council, Imams, the clergy and all citizens to as a matter of agency to add their voices to the unprofessional attitude of the NPP Parliamentary candidate in Nkoranza south to the unfortunate occurrences for claiming Hon. Emmanuel Agyekum's projects as hers. "Harriet Oppong does not have any single developmental project to show in Nkoranza, we will not allow her to acquaint herself to the Nkoranza South MP's developmental projects to claim undeserved glory anymore", Katasko reiterated.
Some residents at the Nsunensa expressed their profound heartfelt to incident at the press briefing.
