2. (a) Briefly describe how you would assist a Basic three (3) class to add 3 and 2 using Cuisenaire rods.


(b) Describe how you would use any named base ten materials to help Basic two learner to add: 34+23.


(c). Identify the position, place value and face value of the digit 8 in the numeral: 75284634659


3. (a). Describe an activity to explain equivalent fractions to a Basic three (3)

learner.


(b). As an Early Grade teacher, how would you explain the following:


i. Numeracy curriculum


ii. Numeracy syllabus



iii. State two difference between them.


4. (a) As an Early Grade teacher, guide your learners to construct a stem and leaf plot using the data: 8, 13, 14, 23, 23, 26, 31, 32, 44, 33, 46, 48, 30, 16, 9, 15, 21. Use your plot to determine the median of the data.


(b) Using concrete materials, briefly explain the following multiplication concepts using the idea of multiplication as repeated addition of the same factor.
