In the application submitted by Joseph Aloba's legal team, the late singer's father, the family sought authorization to serve Wunmi by dispatching all legal documents regarding the suit to her last-known address. Despite previous attempts by the sheriff to serve Wunmi the court process, these efforts had proved futile, leading the Aloba family's legal team, led by Emmanuel Oroko, to pursue alternative means of notification.
Odumosu elaborated, stating that serving the documents at Wunmi's last-known address, as ordered by the Chief Magistrate, would constitute valid service and ensure her awareness of the pending legal proceedings. Consequently, the court granted the order for the documents to be posted at her last-known address.
The ongoing legal dispute revolves around the paternity of baby Liam, prompting the Aloba family to petition the Family Court for an order mandating Wunmi to undergo a DNA test alongside the child at a recognized laboratory in Lagos.
In response to the court's decision, Wunmi, in a widely circulated video, expressed her readiness for the DNA test, asserting that she had not evaded service of the originating motion by the court sheriff. However, Odumosu disclosed that the matter had been adjourned until next month to await the report of service.
Upon inquiry, Wunmi's lawyer, Taiwo Olawanle, claimed to have no knowledge of the court order, expressing willingness to advise his client to comply if the order was received. Nevertheless, he reiterated their lack of awareness regarding any such directive.
