Nigerian content creator Nikky Morah has addressed a recent online report claiming she had relocated back to her home country after tiring of life in the United Kingdom.
Morah clarified that a snippet of a longer YouTube video she posted about her recent trip to Nigeria was misconstrued by some blogs. The video detailed her experiences returning to Nigeria for a visit after two years, motivated by a desire for a break from the fast-paced life in the UK and a chance to reconnect with family, particularly her mother.
"I posted a full video on my YouTube channel, and included a shorter clip on TikTok, mentioning the full video was available," Morah explained. "Unfortunately, it was misrepresented."
She emphasized that she is still residing in the UK and her trip to Nigeria was solely for a temporary break. "I haven't relocated," she stated. "There seems to have been a misunderstanding about the video."
The full video, according to Morah, documented her travel journey from the UK to Nigeria, highlighting her excitement for a break from the UK's busy lifestyle and a chance to reunite with loved ones.
"I also wanted to spend time with my family, especially my mum, whom I've missed dearly," she added. The video reportedly featured her enjoying traditional Nigerian cuisine and participating in farm activities.
Addressing speculation about a potential spousal reunion being the reason for the trip, Morah clarified that she traveled with her husband. While reuniting with family was a major priority, she emphasized that the break from the UK routine was what she was most looking forward to.
"I haven't seen some of my family members in a long time, and it's been difficult being away from them," she said. "The video even showed the local flights I planned to take to visit most of them in the eastern part of Nigeria."
Previous reports, not affiliated with this publication, had suggested Morah was leaving the UK due to dissatisfaction with the country. These reports mentioned her desire to escape the UK's fast pace and longing for a simpler life back in Nigeria.
