Cristiano Ronaldo completes move to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - Cristiano Ronaldo has completed a move to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract worth a reported $75 million per year.

The move brings an end to Ronaldo's illustrious career in Europe, where he won five Ballon d'Or awards and numerous league titles and cups with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.

Ronaldo left Manchester United in November following a controversial interview in which he criticized the club's owners and manager. He was subsequently linked with a move to several clubs, including Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Sporting Lisbon.

However, Ronaldo has ultimately opted to join Al Nassr, who are reportedly paying him a salary of $75 million per year, making him the highest-paid player in the world.

Ronaldo is expected to make his debut for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League match against Al Ettifaq on January 22.

The move to Saudi Arabia has been met with mixed reactions. Some fans have criticized Ronaldo for joining a club in a less competitive league, while others have praised him for his willingness to take on a new challenge.

Ronaldo is one of the greatest players of all time, and his move to Al Nassr is sure to generate a lot of interest in the Saudi Pro League. It will be interesting to see how Ronaldo performs in a new league and whether he can help Al Nassr win their first league title in over a decade.

Reaction to Ronaldo's move to Al Nassr

• "I think it's a good move for him," said former Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand. "He's going to be the main man there, he's going to be the superstar. He's going to be able to play with a smile on his face and enjoy his football again."

• "I'm surprised he's gone to Saudi Arabia," said former England striker Alan Shearer. "I thought he would have stayed in Europe and played at the highest level for as long as possible."

• "It's a sad day for football," said former Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué. "Ronaldo is one of the greatest players of all time, and it's a shame to see him leave Europe."

Ronaldo's legacy

Ronaldo is one of the most decorated players in the history of the game. He has won five Ballon d'Or awards, five Champions League titles, seven league titles, and numerous other cups and individual awards.

Ronaldo is also Portugal's all-time leading goalscorer and has captained the national team to victory at the 2016 European Championship.

Ronaldo's move to Al Nassr may signal the end of his career at the highest level, but he will undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest players of all time.
