The National Democratic Congress (NDC) chairman in the Nkoranza South constituency in the Bono East Region, Ali Adams has cautioned the ruling New Patriotic Party's (NPP) parliamentary candidate, Harriet Oppong Kyeremanteng over the alleged deployment of strong built men 'macho men' to create tension at the Nkoranza South electoral office during the limited voter registration exercise.

However, this constitutional exercise which commenced in the Nkoranza South constituency has raised tensions since its beginning.

In an exclusive interview on Fabea FM's "Me Man Ho Dadwen" program with Apiah-Kubi on Thursday, May 23, 2024 the constituency chairman claimed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been deploying strong built men (macho men) to destabilize the process of the limited voter registration exercise and create tensions in the area for their advantage.

Meanwhile, information available to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Nkoranza South constituency indicates that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has bused people including minors from the Ashanti region to register them in the Nkoranza constituency thereby giving the New Patriotic Party (NPP) an advantage in the December elections. This attitude is not helping at all and we must tell them the truth instead of being silent and watching them cause this problems. We cannot afford to sit and watch minors to be registered because those who are up to the required age are the only ones expected to be registered in the limited voter registration exercise.

According to Chairman Ali, who added that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will match them step-by-step and boot for boot if the New Patriotic Party (NPP) attempts to intimidate their supporters from registering. He called on the Electoral Commission, Ghana Police Service, overlord of the Nkoranza Traditional Area, the peace council and other relevant authorities to stop the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from disturbing the peace in the constituency. This attitude of intimidating people must stop because people who have attained the required age must be allowed to freely register with any intimation from anybody.

He finally expressed concern about what would happen in the general elections coming on December 7, 2024. We need to wake up and condemn this actions before the general election come on to avoid any act of violence. The peace of this country is very important and we cannot allow anyone to destabilize it by causing mayhem because is the only country we have and we must protect the peace of this country. He expressed concern about the implication of these incidents, stating that they send unfavourable signals about the state of Ghana's electoral environment.
