How Waist Beads Can Boost Sexual Health and Marital Intimacy-Dr. Michael Agyekum Addo

Dr. Addo posited that the visual and tactile stimulation provided by these traditional adornments can enhance libido and improve sexual health, potentially reducing the reliance on harmful aphrodisiacs and promoting longer, healthier lives.

Dr. Michael Agyekum Addo, known as the Nkabomhene (Unity Chief) of the New Juaben Traditional Area and CEO of Mikaddo Holdings as well as founder of KAMA Group of Companies, recently made a notable assertion regarding the health benefits of waist beads for men. He stated that men who observe the beads worn on women’s waists might experience enhanced libidos, potentially leading to longer lives. This statement was made during a town hall meeting in Koforidua on May 21, 2024.

Dr. Addo emphasized that kidney diseases were less prevalent among our ancestors, partly because the waist beads worn by their wives naturally aroused them, maintaining their sexual activity even into old age. This natural arousal negated the need for aphrodisiacs, which are often used today. He warned that the overuse of such drugs could harm the kidneys, suggesting that the revival of the tradition of wearing waist beads could reduce the reliance on these potentially harmful substances.

Dr. Addo lamented that many modern women have abandoned this tradition, which he believes has led to a decreased sexual stimulation for their partners. This decline in natural arousal has prompted some men to turn to pharmaceutical aphrodisiacs to boost their sex drive, inadvertently risking kidney damage. He advised women to reconsider wearing waist beads to enhance their marital relationships and safeguard their husbands' health.

The discussion occurred in the context of a town hall meeting addressing neglected tropical diseases, where Dr. Addo, due to his expertise in the pharmaceutical industry, was invited to share his insights. He linked the use of natural sexual stimulants like waist beads to the preservation of kidney health and overall longevity, advocating for a return to traditional practices.

Dr. Michael Agyekum Addo's career is marked by significant achievements in the pharmaceutical field in Ghana. He is an alumnus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he earned both a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy and a Master’s Degree in Industrial Management. His professional journey began with the operation of a pharmaceutical shop in Kumasi in 1983, eventually expanding into the creation of the KAMA Group of Companies.

In addition to his business ventures, Dr. Addo has been active in education through the KAMA Education Project, which aims to cultivate entrepreneurial skills in students from a young age. He has also authored several books intended to inspire the younger generation with a 'can-do' attitude, emphasizing self-reliance and entrepreneurial spirit.
