Eid is a festival of peace and spirituality. Muslims around the world have been in a state of devotion and marks the day of Eid celebration.  Eid ul Adha which is the feast of sacrifice we are celebrating.

Ibrahim (Abraham) is an excellent example for many as depicted through his submission, prayers, and unshakable faith. Allah addressed him as a close friend and a prophet. He was equally identified as a leader of generations.

Addressing Muslims in an interview on Fabea FM with Apiah-Kubi, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency chairman in Nkoranza South for Bono East Region, Ali Adams reiterated the need to strengthen peace in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

However, Muslims around the world celebrated Eid ul Adha (Festival of Sacrifice) on Saturday, June 16, 2024, traditionally slaughtering animals to commemorate the Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son when God ordered him to.

According to Chairman Ali, the slaughter constitutes a readiness to carry out the order by Prophet Ibrahim, testifying to his obedience. Muslims emulate and obey this good deed to demonstrate complete submission to God's will.

Chairman Ali Adams, therefore urged politicians to ensure a peaceful environment and exercise circumspection in their utterances during their campaigns.

Chairman Ali Adams  stressed the need for stronger efforts between Muslim and Christian communities, as well as traditional authorities, to end political and ethnic conflicts.

He said the Islamic religion taught against all forms of violence and therefore did not take kindly to people who perpetrated violent acts. He urged the youth not to give in to pressure from politicians who would like to use them to foment trouble in the country.

He said on election day, Muslims and any other Ghanaians should cast their ballot peacefully and wait patiently for the results to be declared by those mandated to do so in an atmosphere of peace and unity.

Chairman Ali Adams also called for respect for authority and cautioned against any action that could disturb the peace of the nation before, during and after the elections.

He finally suggested to politicians to focus on issue-based campaigns, avoiding personal attacks and divisive rhetoric to promote a culture of respect and tolerance.

He called on all residents to preserve and protect the gains made in the past so we don't lost it all because of politics and said peace is priceless. We need to protect the peace of this country, it's the only home we have as a people.
