Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia's formal running companion will be Matthew Opoku Prempeh, as is clearly obvious. The pressure on Bawumia to make a decision is immense. The chosen personality will hail from the Ashanti Region, which was known even under intense pressure. If they select someone from that area, the party thinks they have a fighting chance. The party lists numerous names as preferred prospects. Joe Osei Owusu came in at 2.27%, followed by Osei Kyei Mensa Bonsu at 3.38% and Flora Opare at 3.34%. After receiving his name from Bawumia, Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, the Energy Minister, will reportedly be nominated as a running mate by the party's executive council. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey of Media General's TV3 will show an interview with the General Secretary in which he addresses Bawumia's selection of NAPO as his running mate. He claims that he is not frightened by the National Democratic Congress.
He elaborated on how hiring NAPO as Bawumia's partner has only served to further damage his already damaged reputation. According to the outspoken NDC national executive, Bawumia's selection as NAPO's running mate would come as a huge surprise, given that NAPO has already failed to resolve the country's power crisis. The NDC is laser-focused on achieving a resounding triumph in December, as reported by Fifi Kwetey. He boldly declared that the NPP would face defeat in the upcoming elections.
