RIP: TEARS FLOWS AS AKUFO ADDO'S DRIVER WHO DIED IN CAR ACCIDENT IS LAID TO REST

The driver of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Kwesi Atta, affectionately known as Champion Atta, has finally been laid to rest following a fatal accident. The accident occurred at Bunso when President Akufo-Addo was returning from the funeral of the late Deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah.

Kwesi Atta, who was driving the Toyota Land Cruiser involved in the accident, died instantly at the scene. The crash left three other occupants of the vehicle with various injuries. The news of the tragic accident has sent shockwaves throughout the country, especially among those who knew and worked closely with Kwesi Atta.

The final rites and burial took place in Gomoa Kweikrom, a town in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region. The solemn ceremony was attended by several high-profile figures, including Captain Kodah, the Central Regional Minister Justina Marigold Assan, and the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Gomoa East, Kojo Asamanyi.


Colleagues of Kwesi Atta, military officers, and other staff from the presidency also gathered to pay their last respects. Kwesi Atta, aged 50, leaves behind a grieving wife and six children.

In recognition of his service and the tragic circumstances of his death, the government has pledged to support his family. This support includes providing scholarships for his children to ensure they continue their education and financial assistance for his widow.


During the funeral, Kojo Asamanyi, speaking on behalf of President Akufo-Addo, offered condolences to the bereaved family. He praised Kwesi Atta for his dedication and hard work, noting that his contributions would not be forgotten. The loss of Kwesi Atta is a significant blow, not only to his family but also to his colleagues and the larger community.


Eugene Arhin, the Director of Communications and NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Awutu Senya West Constituency, was also present to console the family. He joined other mourners in expressing deep sorrow over the untimely passing of Kwesi Atta, underscoring the impact he had on those around him.
