Tragically, 26-year-old Abigail Nana Amma Fosua took her own life by hanging herself in her room, allegedly due to a broken heart caused by her boyfriend. 



This incident occurred on Gentlemen Road, a suburb of Samreboi in the Amenfi West District of the Western Region. According to reports, the alleged boyfriend arrived at her residence yesterday morning and expressed concern to the landlord that Abigail might have harmed herself following their previous conversations. Upon checking her room, they discovered that Abigail had indeed taken her own life. The police were promptly notified, and her body was taken to the Samartex Hospital mortuary for further investigation. The alleged boyfriend is currently cooperating with the police investigation. She left behind a son.

President Akufo-Addo has announced that the government’s Agenda 111 Hospital Projects will create approximately 67,000 jobs upon completion.

Highlighting the significance of the project, President Akufo-Addo emphasized that each hospital, capable of employing over 100 people, marks Agenda 111 as a transformative initiative.


During the commissioning of the Adansi North Hospital in Fomena, Ashanti Region, President Akufo-Addo confirmed the government’s commitment to completing the hospitals.


“There’s an average number of 120 workers on each construction site, and when completed, an average of 559 persons will be employed in a district hospital, 1,343 in the regional hospital, and 947 in each psychiatric hospital. This means that 67, 635 people will be employed in the Agenda 111 Hospitals,” President Akufo-Addo assured.

The latest data from the Ghana Statistical Service indicates that the Producer Price Inflation rate for June 2024 has increased to 25.9%, higher than the 23.6% recorded in May 2024.


This rate indicates that between June 2023 and June 2024, the rate increased by 25.9 per cent.

The increase represents a 2.5 percentage point surge in producer inflation relative to the rate recorded in May 2024. The month-on-month change in the rate between May 2024 and June 2024 was 2.7 per cent.


The Producer Price Index measures the average change over time in the selling prices of goods and services received by domestic producers.
