Two executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Sekyere Afram Plains, located in Drobonso, have found themselves in hot water. They have been arrested and remanded by the Effiduase Circuit Court on charges of stealing 45 electric poles. These poles were meant to be used for supplying electricity to various parts of Drobonso, including a government E-Block school, which is a critical infrastructure project.

The accused individuals are Justice Amo, who serves as the Constituency Secretary for the NPP, and Samson Boamah, who holds the position of First Vice Constituency Chairman. Both men are important figures within the NPP’s local leadership in the Sekyere Afram Plains constituency.

According to reports, the electric poles were designated for a project aimed at bringing electricity to several areas in Drobonso. This project was supposed to improve the lives of residents by providing them with reliable access to electricity, which is essential for development. The poles were also crucial for powering an E-Block school, a type of senior high school built under the government’s infrastructure initiative.

However, instead of the poles being used for their intended purpose, they were allegedly stolen. The police were alerted to the situation, leading to the arrest of the two NPP executives. Alongside them, two other individuals were also taken into custody. These are Musah Seidu, a driver working with Zoomlion (a waste management company), and Enoch Takyi, an electrician. The involvement of these two individuals suggests that the theft might have been a coordinated effort.

The Effiduase Circuit Court, which is handling the case, has decided to remand the four accused individuals. This means they will be held in police custody for the next three weeks until their next court hearing. During this time, they will not be granted bail, and their fate will be determined at the next hearing. The court’s decision to remand them reflects the seriousness of the charges against them.
