A woman in Wukari, Taraba State, has been arrested by the police for allegedly committing a shocking act of violence against her step-grandson. The woman, whose name has not been disclosed, reportedly used a hot knife to cut off the lips of her step-grandson, Chinecherim Julius. This brutal act has left the young boy with severe injuries.

Ibrahim Audu Angyu, the Senior Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Chairman of Wukari Local Government Area, confirmed the arrest of the woman involved. He expressed deep shock and disbelief at the cruel nature of the crime, stating, “It is beyond comprehension how a person can harm a child in such a brutal manner.”
Angyu emphasized that the act committed by the woman was not only inhumane but also a serious crime that cannot be ignored. He described the incident as a "gruesome and inexcusable act of violence" and called for the strongest possible condemnation from the public.
The Executive Chairman of Wukari Local Government Council, Hon. Dauda Agbu Samaila, took swift action by ordering the immediate arrest of the woman.
