Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum is the Member of Parliament for Nkoranza South Constituency in the Bono East Region of Ghana. He is also a member of the National Democratic Congress party.
He is a member of National Democratic Congress. He won the Nkoranza South Constituency parliamentary seat with 29,408 votes making 56.8% of total votes cast whilst the NPP parliamentary candidate Konadu-Yiadom Charles had 22,219 votes making 42.9% of the total votes cast and the PNC candidate Florence Ampour had 121 votes making 0.2% of the total votes cast.
He was the former Deputy Minister of Local Government.
He is a member of the Subsidiary Legislation Committee and also a member of the Works and Housing Committee.
Honorable Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, Member of Parliament for Nkoranza South constituency in the Bono East Region, has inaugurated a multipurpose sports complex at Akuma, a suburb of Nkoranza.
The complex is located at Kwabre Senior High School which features a football pitch, basketball, volleyball courts, table tennis, and netball facilities.
However, the project which is financed by the MP, transformed a once grassless pitch into a state-of-the-art sports facility, demonstrating Hon. Agyekum's commitment to extending his social responsibility projects to the people of Nkoranza.
Meanwhile, during the inauguration ceremony, the MP performed a ceremonial kick-off for an exhibition match, officially opening the sports complex for use.
According to the representatives from Nkoranza Senior High School, Donkro-Nkwanta Senior High School, God's Way Senior High School, and traditional leaders from Akuma attended the event.
In his speech, Hon. Agyekum emphasized his dedication to sports development, encouraging students to prioritize their academic studies. He stressed that infrastructure is crucial for education and sports development, stating, "We are committed to positioning sports as a vehicle for economic growth and talent development. Football alone is a multi-billion industry, and we aim to develop our talents through this form of education."
Rev. Amo Appau, headmaster of Kwabre Senior High School, expressed gratitude to Hon. Emmanuel Agyekum for his significant investment in the school's sports facilities to enhance them have access to proper sports competitions.
He revealed that the school had requested for the MP's assistance with the construction of the sports complex and he has fulfilled his promise to the school.
The multipurpose sports complex has been named "Agyekum Complex Park" in recognition of the MP's contribution. We there want to use this opportunity to say a very big thank you to Hon. Emmanuel Agyekum and God bless him and reward his efforts.
