Former Atltico de Madrid forward, 20, signs until 2029.
Samu Omorodion is FC Porto's first signing for the 2024/25 season. Having just become an Olympic champion with the Spanish national team, the 20-year-old striker moves from Madrid to Porto and from Atltico to FC Porto for 15 million for 50% of his economic rights. He signs a contract valid for five seasons, until 2029, with a release clause of 100 million and two non-mandatory purchase options of an additional 15% for 5 million each.
"It is an honor to be part of a club with FC Porto's enormous history. I know the responsibility that comes with playing here, where strikers like Gomes, Jardel, Falcao, and Jackson Martnez have played, but I know I'm ready," declared the new number 9 in his first statements in blue and white.
Born to Nigerian parents and a native of Melilla, a Spanish enclave in North Africa, Samuel Omorodion Aghehowa moved to Seville during his childhood and started playing football at the AD Nervin youth academy before joining Granada's youth ranks. Always moving up the ranks, he scored 18 goals in 33 games for Granada's B team, catching the eye of a capital giant.
Atleti paid a small fortune to acquire him from Granada last summer, loaned him to Alavs, and the 1.93-meter, 90-kilogram athlete continued to impress in the Basque Country, scoring eight goals and providing one assist in the 34 La Liga matches he played.
