Man Utd's double transfer joy as club repairs connection strained by Cristiano Ronaldo drama
Cristiano Ronaldo's sudden leave from Manchester United in 2022 left a sour taste in many mouths, including the star's agent, Jorge Mendes, who now appears happy to send his clients to Old Trafford once more.
Manchester United has already signed Leny Yoro and is preparing to announce Manuel Ugarte after restoring their relationship with the players' agent, Jorge Mendes.

The Portuguese intermediary represented Cristiano Ronaldo until his painful departure from Old Trafford in 2022, when he severed ties with the Manchester club following his client's heated tell-all interview with Piers Morgan.
This summer, United made a £52 million deal for another of his clients, Yoro, showing that the previously tense relationship between the two parties has been partly mended. The impending £42 million signing of PSG's Uruguayan star Ugarte all but guarantees that the Ronaldo drama is history.

Ugarte will become the club's fifth summer acquisition, following the arrivals of Yoro, Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee, and Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui play for Munich.

Erik ten Hag has been circumspect about Ugarte's arrival, saying when questioned, "I don't have any updates on transfers. We are always looking for something better. When we have news, we will report it, and for now, I haven't heard anything, so I don't think there is anything to report."

According to the Daily Mail, the long-winded Ugarte transaction was finalized when United's executives traveled to Paris to negotiate.

Ten Hag's team initially pursued the enforcer in June, when it became evident that current holding midfield number one Casemiro lacked the legs required to play such a role in the Premier League.

The major trigger point that needed to be met was an agreement on a charge. Les Parisiens paid Sporting CP £51.1 million for Ugarte last summer and intended to recoup the entire cost. United were hesitant to do this and held the most of the cards, with Ugarte shut out of Luis Enrique's squad outright, and his successor, Joao Neves, having already joined.
