Real Betis are certainly going to do what they can in order to bring in Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid on transfer deadline day, with Nabil Fekir due to exit for Al-Jazira in the United Araba Emirates. That deal will bring them 7m and save them significant salary space, but whether it will be enough to get Ceballos through the door is not clear.
Los Verdiblancos have agreed terms with Ceballos, but Los Blancos are demanding 20m for the 28-year-old, a figure that seems difficult for them to meet. Marca say that Real Madrid have already rejected an offer for Ceballos, which amounted to 5m for 50% of his rights, which would be paid in three instalments.
It seems Betis will need to at least double their offer in hope that Real Madrid are open to accepting an offer for half of his rights. Ceballos is unhappy with his lack of minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu, and is keen to play more. He has dropped out of the Spanish national team, after returning to the fold in Luis de la Fuentes early months.
