Digital creator, social media influencer and philanthropist, James Annor popularly known as Nana Tea has provided an update on the situation of a former drug addict who he helped quit addiction.
Nana Tea first saw the video of Prince Aniewu on social media in November 2023 while he was in a very distressing manner and was battling drug addiction at the time.
Aniewu gained a scholarship to secondary school after passing his BECE with distinction but ended up as a scrap dealer after secondary school due to drug abuse.
Aniewu was a former student of Bishop Herman College and caught the attention of many after he spoke very well in an interview he granted last year calling for assistance to quit drug abuse.
He appeared unkept and expressed his willingness to quit drugs, continue his education and become a legal practitioner.
Speaking in an interview with Giovani Caleb on Showbiz 360, Nana Tea noted that after reposting the video of Aniewu on social media, he reached out to Pastor Elvis Agyemang, the host of Alpha Hour who donated an amount of GHC12,000 for the first three months of rehabilitation for Prince Aniewu.
Nana Tea revealed that Prince is now in good condition and studying law at the University of Ghana (UG).
“He is at the University of Ghana (UG) at the moment reading law. I saw the story trending. After I posted the video, the original person who posted the video contacted me and he said what can we do about it. At that time, I didn’t even know there was something called rehabilitation and it's very expensive.
“After I got to know then I realised that the amount involved is not a joke. Then I reached out to the Alpha Hour man, Pastor Elvis and I told him Man of God, this is what I have on the table, is there something you can do for me?
“He actually sent me GHC12,000 for me to go and clear the first three months of detoxication and I did just that and today to the Glory of God he is doing so well,” he narrated on Saturday, August 31.
Nana Tea through his influence on social media has transformed lives of many other people with his philanthropic works.
