NDC Clarifies And Refutes Misunderstanding With Dromankese Traditional Leaders

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Nkoranza North Constituency led by the party's communications officer, Osei-Nyamekye Benign has addressed a viral video involving traditional chiefs in Dromankese, expressing dissatisfaction with former President John Mahama's recent visit with invoking of curses.

In a press release, signed by the Nkoranza North NDC's communications officer and the constituency secretary, Emmanuel Ballasi, the NDC leadership explained that John Mahama's visit did not include a palace visit due to his busy schedule contrary to claims made in the viral video.

Some sub-chiefs of Dromankese invoked curses on NDC in attempt to campaign in Dromankese due to failure to visit the Chiefs of the Traditional area.

They, the NDC emphasized that they informed the chief of Dromankese about the visit and modalities. That  video misrepresents their agreement.

The party also highlighted John Mahama's good relationship with traditional leaders citing his 2020 visit to the chief's palace spending about 45 minutes in the Chiefs palace.

They urged supporters to remain calm while they engage with traditional authorities to resolve the misunderstandings.

The NDC emphasized their respect for tradition and culture, condemning politically motivated actions aimed at ruining their relationship with traditional leaders.

"We respect tradition and culture and will not intentionally engage in any contemptuous actions against our traditional authorities", Benign stated.

The party called for peaceful coexistence and cooperation with traditional leaders to develop Ghana.

However, the NDC has taken all the necessary bold steps to resolve misunderstanding with Dromankese Traditional Leaders.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has successfully resolved the misunderstanding with the traditional leaders in Dromankese.

The issue arose during  John Mahama's recent campaign visit to Dromankese, where traditional elders felt snubbed, leading to curses being invoked on the NDC and its supporters by some of the Dromankese sub-chiefs.

In a viral video, the elders expressed their dissatisfaction, claiming they were made to wait for John Mahama, who never showed up at the Chief's Palace. However, after a meeting between NDC leadership and Obrempong Danso-Abeam II, Chief of Dromankese, it was established that a miscommunication led to the misunderstanding.

The NDC delegation, led by Nana Baffuor Sarkodie, Bono East Regional Deputy Security Coordinator in charge of operations, with Nkoranza North constituency NDC chairman, Chairman Acquah, Former Member of Parliament for Techiman South, Hon. Adjei Mensah, Nana Moses Okrah, member of Bono East NDC council of elders and Nana Saah Gyamfuwaa, Ayima hemaa, expressed gratitude to the traditional leaders for their understanding.

Nana Obrempong Danso-Abeam II urged the electorate to disregard the curses, saying, rituals have been performed to appease the gods, therefore the electorates can vote massively for the NDC in the upcoming December 7th general elections without fear and panic.

The resolution comes as a relief to the NDC, ensuring that the party's campaign momentum remains unaffected.

The incident highlights the importance of clear communication and cultural sensitivity in political engagements.

This matter resolved, the deputy regional security coordinator expressed his profound gratitude for the resolution urging the NDC supporters to remain calm without fear and panic, and focus on their campaign to promote its vision for Ghana's future.
